1. About this policy

This policy describes how Scalare Partners Pty Ltd (ABN 61 660 084 435) trading as Inhouse Ventures (“IHV”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects personal information through the Inhouse Ventures platform at app.inhouseventures.com.au.

We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

2. What personal information we collect

Information you provide directly:

  • Account information: name, email address, phone number.
  • Profile information: company name, role/title, biography, tagline, sectors, stage, location.
  • Business information: raise details, traction metrics, team members, documents (pitch decks, financials).
  • Investor information: investment preferences, cheque size range, preferred sectors and stages.
  • Payment information: processed by our payment provider (Pinch Payments). We do not store credit card details.

Information collected automatically:

  • Page view data (which profiles were viewed, aggregate counts).
  • Session data (login timestamps, IP address for security purposes).
  • Device information (browser type, for platform compatibility).

We do NOT collect: sensitive information (health, political, religious, or sexual orientation data), precise geolocation, or social media data beyond what you voluntarily provide (e.g. LinkedIn URL).

3. How we use your information

We use your personal information to:

  • Provide and operate the platform (APP 6).
  • Match founders with relevant investors based on sector, stage, and preferences.
  • Facilitate introductions and meeting requests between users.
  • Send transactional emails (account confirmations, password resets, payment receipts).
  • Send personal follow-up emails from our team regarding your application.
  • Improve the platform and develop new features.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do NOT use your information for targeted advertising, sell it to third parties, or profile you for purposes unrelated to the platform.

4. How we share your information

Published profile data is visible to registered investors and on the public marketplace. You control what information is published via your dashboard.

Investor data is shared with founders only via facilitated introductions — founders do not have bulk access to investor details.

Third-party service providers we use to operate the platform:

  • Fly.io — hosting (Sydney region; data stays in Australia).
  • Cloudflare R2 — file storage (encrypted at rest).
  • Resend — transactional email delivery.
  • Pinch Payments — payment processing (Australian-regulated, AFCA member).
  • Anthropic Claude API — AI-assisted lead classification (no personal data is stored by Anthropic beyond the API request).

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.

5. Data storage and security

Your data is stored on servers in Sydney, Australia (Fly.io Sydney region). We use industry-standard security measures including:

  • Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) on all pages.
  • Encrypted database connections.
  • Secure, httpOnly session cookies.
  • Rate limiting on all API endpoints.
  • Role-based access controls and permissions.

Private documents (pitch decks, financials) are stored in a private storage bucket and accessed only via time-limited signed URLs. No security system is perfect — we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

6. Data retention

  • Active accounts: we retain your data for as long as your account is active.
  • Deleted accounts: personal data is anonymised within 30 days of account deletion. Anonymised business data (sector, stage — no PII) may be retained for platform analytics.
  • Payment records: retained for 7 years as required by Australian tax law.
  • Application data: leads who do not become customers have their data retained for 12 months, then deleted.

7. Your rights (APPs 12 and 13)

  • Access: you can request a copy of all personal data we hold about you. Use the “Download my data” button on your dashboard, or email us.
  • Correction: you can update your information at any time via your dashboard, or request corrections by emailing us.
  • Deletion: you can delete your account and data via your dashboard. For complete erasure, email us and we will hard-delete all records within 30 days.
  • Complaint: if you believe we have breached the APPs, please contact us first. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies only:

  • Session cookie (ihv_token): httpOnly, secure, used for authentication. Expires after 8 hours (founders/investors) or 4 hours (admin).
  • Cookie consent flag: stored in localStorage, remembers your consent banner dismissal.

We do NOT use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, third-party analytics cookies, or social media cookies. You can clear cookies via your browser settings. Clearing the session cookie will log you out.

9. Children's privacy

The platform is not intended for anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. International data transfers

Your data is primarily stored and processed in Australia. Some third-party service providers may process data outside Australia (Resend — US, Anthropic — US). These transfers are necessary to operate the platform, and these providers maintain appropriate data protection measures.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified to registered users via email. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version.
